SCAD Re-Event

SCAD for events

SCAD Re-Event has a new site. Click here to visit.

SCAD Re-Event is a new CAD / drawing program designed to quickly and correctly design events, stands, exhibitions, concerts, stages, lighting and sound etc. The basis is the huge library with more than 10,000 products that are suitable for both simple 2D drawings to make as complex 3D designs. In order to keep an overview in large and complex drawings, there are unique features that enable the user to access areas in the design. Creating drawings goes quick thanks to sophisticated commands which makes daily repetitive actions much quicker than standard CAD programs. Placing fences, trusses, lighting, walls, scaffolding, stands, tents and moving or replacing them, all tasks that can be done in any CAD program. But we care whether the user is now busy with operating a CAD program, or that he / she uses his or her expertise and time used to put down a good design.

To cite one example: the replacement of an article by an article from another brand takes 4 clicks. Even if this article tens or hundreds of times in different places under  different angles present in the design. Or another example: placing an article twice in the drawing, which have to be aligned with another article (for example, a lamp in two different, oblique, trusses), only requires two mouse clicks and hold a key for alignment.

Calculations

Then there are the extended modules for calculations. First of all, the parts list which refers to the database, gives a list of the articles used in the drawing. Regardless of how the drawing is organized and even if there are reference drawings. Total weights and capacities are similarly quickly bring into focus. The seating module shows how many chairs there are and how much of that rank. The scaffolding plan gives a table in which location of which materials are used in the drawing. Special features are built in for calculations such as lengths and numbers of cables at festivals, lengths of carpet in a hallway, or forces, weights and lengths for rigging (Bridle Module, optional).

DWG compatible

SCAD Re-Event is fully compatible with the DWG format. There is no conversion to and from DWG, drawings look just like in AutoCAD ™, including layouts, styles etc. The speed  is higher than in Autocad ™, not only the screen layout, also starting and executing programs (up to 11x faster).

Library

SCAD Re-Event BibliotheekThis is the main access to the library of SCAD. In a clear menu lists all articles grouped. The layout can be edited by the user.

Through a FIND button each article can be found quickly. Not only by name but also any property that is in the database. The database can be extended by the user easily.

A clear menu icons show the articles to insert in the drawing. Again, the layout is easy to customize. If an item is clicked, shows the most important information at the bottom of the menu.

POSTCALC

The program makes a Postcalc scoring track of the blocks (symbols) in the drawing. These can be main symbols (toplevel) or subsymbols (nested). If a Block consists Postcalc will not mention either of multiple blocks, the user selects whether the block as a whole must appear in the results, or that all components have to be counted separately. Only counting certain items is easy by turning categories on or off.

Moving and Copying

Move or copy objects goes fast. The distance is to give in by means of points, or by entering a number. Below is a copy that is where the distance is entered in meters, as the sign unit mm.

Replace filter and Selection

An object replaced by another type or another brand? Combining Selection Filter and Replace command makes it easy, even in impossible busy drawings.

The start:

Selecting using filter selection:

And then replaced by a different type of a lamp:

Rotate

Rotate, but the axis which is rotated about is own axis of the block. Each block therefore revolves around its own X, Y or Z-axis.
The following four lights rotated with one command.

ISOL

This command allows the user to select a portion of the drawing, as in works or subsequently isolating a portion yet again. With SHOWPREV the previous display is shown again, so you can deeper into the drawing and steps back. By working with groups it is even easier to edit selections.

Some isolated:

From there again isolate a smaller portion.

From here you can directly back to the entire drawing or to the previous step.

SCAFFOLDING PLAN

The program looks at the combinations of posts and spindles there are in a particular place and puts an index number at. The table refers to this index, behind it which objects are placed in that spot, low to high. The table alias is used, not the whole block name.

In the table is visible or connect the uprights (+), or that there is a gap (,) such as at a bridge.

CAC

Copy along path. For example, copying a fence along a line.

LINEARRAY

Makes a line array as is common with speakers.

The corners of the array at any time to adjust. The array is built live in the drawing.

Bridle module (optional)

The bridle module draws straight drops, 2 point and 3-point bridles bridles in 3D in a location where the roof profiles are drawn as a line. After entering the weights and used material (autofill rest lengths) the module calculates all the forces (in all directions) and provides an output of all lengths, weights, strength and material. Users can easily modify any bridle and instantly see what impact it has on power and positions.
